2.Functions of Institutional Ethics Committee (IEC):

Institutional Ethics Committee should provide scientific and ethical reviews of research proposals before the commencement of a study and regularly monitor the ongoing studies. Institutional Ethics Committee will review and approve all research proposals involving human participants with a view to safeguard the dignity, rights, safety and well-being of research participants. The health and well-being of the research subjects will take priority over the goals of research in accordance with the principles of research ethics. It will review the proposals before the start of the study as well as monitor the research throughout the study until and after completion of the study through periodic reports, final reports and site visits, etc.
